At the core of the Snowtrac tire's success is a new Silica Solution II which replaces part of the soot component used in making the tread. This new chemical process means that this solution offers unparalleled possibilities as a rubber component. Its molecular structure makes rubber more elastic and flexible at lower temperatures. The result is that the tire has a firmer grip on wet, snowy and icy road surfaces. The use of Silica means that the tread's defensive mechanisms against water, mud, snow and ice can truly be termed pioneering. With the Snowtrac, you have 12% more traction on the road, while the braking distance is shortened by 10%. Silica also reduces the 'rolling resistance' of the tire.
